My first post

I created this blog for a few reasons. First and for most, I get bored easily. Secondly, I find the lack of parenthood blogs, websites, and general internet garbage from a male perspective disturbing. If you google mother hood you get just under 15 million results. If you google fatherhood you get just over 4 million hits. I also find it interesting that the first four sites google gives us for motherhood are all retail hits. This isn't true for fatherhood. It's a sad day when people aren't even trying to sell us crap, but I digress. I am also doing this blog because I have really written for my own personal benefit since I was 16 and started college. Now that I have graduated and have a job I feel the need to put pen to paper sort of speak. Ultimately I am trying to document an experience that has, to my knowledge, not been documented all that well, mostly for my own edification.

If you are reading this and you are not one of my in-laws, my wife, or my mother, which chances are you are, a little bit about myself. I am 22, I teach middle school, and my wife is pregnant with our first child who is due september 29th, but if our child shares any of our DNA it will be late.
